PRIDE AT SNC

At Short North Church and North Broadway UMC, we celebrate every person as a child of God! June is one of our favorite months of the year, when we get to celebrate our LOVEALIVE for the LGBTQIA+ community. We want to share a highlight of some of the activities we have planned this month, along with a few other community events. For complete details on all PRIDE events please visit this page.Online HERE | Love is Alive. #lovealive

2022 Pride Calendar of Events

Creating Spiritually Affirming Spaces for Trans* Folks : CANCELEDWednesday, June 15 | 6 PMNorth Broadway UMCThis community event will focus on education about how to create affirming spaces for members of all genders and sexualities. We will start with terms and broad concepts, and then turn to specifics of how individuals and groups can ensure that trans* folks feel welcomed, and affirmed in their church communities. Space will be left for folks to ask questions, share experiences and have curious, safe conversations. This event is being put on in partnership with Transplaining.Living History of PRIDEFriday, June 17 | 6 PMShort North ChurchJoin this unique event where we invite folks, across generations, to share their sacred stories and experiences in the context of LGBTQ History. The event will begin with broad, text book understandings of the history of pride, and then folks will be invited into conversations with folks from their generation to share their own interactions with queer history. We will conclude with story sharing across generations as we come to understand that we have all had a part in the making of our own history. This event will center healing, hope and community to inspire us to each strive for justice in all of our communities. This event is being put on in partnership with Transplaining.PRIDE ParadeSaturday, June 18 | 10 AMDowntown ColumbusPlease hit the follow button and watch our socials for the latest info the day of the paradeArrival Time: Walkers must be ready to lineup by 10AM.
