Kye's Bio

Kye Cole Pyeatt (they/he), originally from Abilene, TX, moved to Columbus to pursue his Master’s degree in Percussion Performance from The Ohio State University. He has stayed not only to pursue his Doctorate in Percussion Performance, but plans to remain in Columbus for many years to come. They hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education with a Percussion Emphasis from McMurry University (Abilene, TX). It was at McMurry that Kyestarted playing in worship bands, and he quickly fell in love with every aspect of it. They started writing songs and learning instruments at a young age, and has since learned over 100 instruments and written at least 70 songs and percussion pieces. 

Outside of school, Kye is a marching band tech for the drumline at Thomas Worthington High School, plays drums and co-writes for Nicia Rose’s band, plays occasionally at open mics, and goes to karaoke with friends.
