Cathryn Clark

Cathryn Clark, Short North Church Director of Communications. Communications and Digital Expert with over 15 years of experience.

Cathryn “Cat” Clark is a Columbus-based communications and marketing professional with more than a decade of experience in strategic communications, digital storytelling, and brand development. She currently serves as the Minority Deputy Communications Director for the Ohio House of Representatives, where she leads creative strategy, manages digital content, oversees crisis communications, and helps shape statewide messaging on key policy issues.

Cat originally joined Short North Church as Director of Communications prior to its 2018 launch, leading branding, social media, and visual identity for one of Columbus’ most vibrant and inclusive faith communities. Her communications leadership has also extended into small business—she helped launch and grow her fiancé’s local mattress company, developing marketing systems, managing creative direction, and scaling engagement without relying on a large ad budget.

A proud Columbus native, Cathryn’s roots trace back to North Linden and Knox County, and she now calls Franklinton home. She holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism and media production with a minor in American Sign Language from Otterbein University, where she helped found the school’s first Deaf Culture Club and served as a member of Kappa Phi Omega Sorority.

Cathryn, who is hearing impaired, is a passionate advocate for accessibility and for the Deaf and hard of hearing communities. She continues to use her communications experience to promote inclusion, awareness, and connection across professional, creative, and community spaces. Her passion also extends to urban agriculture—she’s a former Ohio FFA state officer and was the first person in Ohio to win the National FFA AgriEntrepreneurship Award.

When she’s not writing, filming, or brainstorming her next campaign, you can find her cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes, singing along at pop-punk concerts, or traveling to her favorite getaway—Las Vegas. She shares life in Columbus with her fiancé Chris, their son CJ, and their beloved pets.
